What I Want to Accomplish
While reflecting on the question, “What would you like to accomplish through this programming?,” my mind is running in circles. I say this because I want to accomplish so much!
First things first, I want to learn how to inspire my students to write. I have some students who love to write and could go on and on. Then, I have some that are very concise and to the point. I know that writing is extremely important in education for the rest of our lives. I want to be sure that I’m doing everything I can to inspire them to be the best writers they can be.
Second, I want my students’ parents to realize just how important school and writing is for their children. I live and work in a low SES area. The best thing we can do for these kids to bring forth their success that will lead to a great future. I think having more parental involvement in this is key to my students’ success. I believe I can accomplish this from this program by creating a writing project that encourages my students’ parents involvement.
Third, I want to accomplish how to be a better teacher at writing, in general. I know there are many tricks out there and I am all ears for them. You can never have too many tricks in teaching.
I think by the end of this program, I will be able to accomplish all of these. I look forward to being guided and learning from my fellow colleagues through this program!
