Finding Joy in Literacy

What would you like to accomplish through this programing? 

I’ve been thinking about this question for months and I haven’t been able to settle on one answer.

I want our literacy project to engage families. I want to bring a little normalcy to the school year. I want to do something fun with my students. I want my students to have a positive experience with their parents. I want a moment of reprieve for all of us from the stress of pandemic.

Mainly, I want this project to bring joy to my students and their families. It goes without saying that life is stressful right now. Many are not able to make school a priority. Basic needs and survival come before family fun. I would love this program to be a stress free activity where my students and their families can take a moment to enjoy each other and relax with good books. I want them to find joy in reading together. I want them to hold onto that joy and take it home. I want them to keep reading together.
