Digital Writing Sandbox: Common Core, Writing, Technology, and a Little Fun
Dakota Writing Project invites teachers to join us in January for our Digital Writing Sandbox!
How? We’ll dig into technologies, such as EdModo, digital storytelling, and Prezi, writing and experimenting. You’ll try out a technology, discuss your tech experience with other teachers, and brainstorm ways in which to use that technology in your classroom. We’ll make key connections between Common Core and digital writing along the way.
Where? The Digital Writing Sandbox “dig” takes place 100% online, using the National Writing Project’s Connect space as our home base. You can participate from any location you choose, as long as you have a reliable Internet connection.
When? Beginning January 7, 2013, for five weeks, we’ll explore technologies on our own (2-4 hours a week, using tutorials provided by your sandbox leaders) and meet once a week on Monday nights to discuss in a live chat our explorations. You’ll develop a lesson plan that you can implement during the spring. We’ll have a final online chat in May to share the results of our classroom work and reflect on it together.
Register online here or here by December 1, 2012. The Digital Writing Sandbox “dig” is open to all educators who are members of Writing Project sites.
