I grew up in the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). I studied literature at the University of Colorado. I earned my teaching credential from California State University, Chico. I have been teaching since since 2000 at Corning Union High School where I did my student teaching. I am a teacher consultant, and connected learning liaison. I am interested in online writing and publishing. I teach English and a digital literacies course. I like to make things using computer code and I am learning how to make physical things. I am also learning to better appreciate poetry. Someday, I may write some. I am a husband and father of two boys. We live in a rural area in Northern California. I enjoy fishing on the Sacramento River and its tributaries. I dabble in photography. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks while doing my chores. I play video games on a PS3. I root for the Oakland Athletics.
