I have been an Associate Professor of English and Secondary Education at Rhode Island College since 2004. Prior to teaching in higher ed, I was a high school English teacher in Western Massachusetts for 5 years. I play the mandolin and violin, have a personal learning network on Twitter, and draw comics of my life and work as a professor. As a teacher, I am most interested in collaborating with other educators who are not interested in doing business as usual. As a researcher, I am committed to making teachers' and writers' lived experiences and voices more visible in the literature.
