Born in Dallas, JD Meyer got an MS in EdPsy from Texas A&M after a BA in Anthro. After working in MHMR, I attended Univ. of North TX. I've been certified in Secondary English/Social Studies since 1991 and taught Developmental English for ten of those years--writing and copyrighting a textbook for the course. I've substitute taught off-&-on throughout that time for five districts with all ages and for all subjects. Citizen journalism is one of my passions, and my Kwanzaa #3 article was published by the NCTE branch of NWP in 2009. I record monthly meetings for the Tyler DAVA and have been doing research on veteran entrepreneurship. Town & Gown relations are important to me, and I support downtown arts events. One of my major goals is to get my now-illustrated textbook published.
