About
Fred is a Teaching Artist, an arts integration advocate & social justice activist with a passion for string games. He taught 3rd & 4th grade for 10 years with Alianza Charter School's 2-way dual immersion program. He spent the last 7 years of his public school teaching career as a self-funded technology integration specialist. He focuses on self-directed, connected learning via real-world projects & string games. "For our students, I firmly believe putting them in play as creators within our networked physical world is our primary task. They each need to see themselves as Makers with "Net Smarts" (as Howard Rheingold puts it), and to be given the tools to tell the computers what to do. This is connected learning."
