About

Ralph Córdova is an educational ethnographer studying the role of creative confidence in how communities of practice are socially constructed in and through interdisciplinary discourses. His research makes visible the often invisible ways students and teachers develop interdisciplinary knowledge in the sciences and the arts that allow them to access learning within those seeming disparate spaces. He conceptualizes formal schooling and informal museum spaces as cultural landscapes for learning. Córdova is an assistant professor of literacy and language at Southern Ilinois University Edwardsville, and the founder and director of the Piasa Bluffs Writing Project at the CoLab.
