Each day, I teach filmmaking and multimedia literacy at a high school in Oakland, Maine, the lakeside town my wife and I, along with our three middle-school children, call home. Outside of the regular day, I work with adult learners, teach journalism for an international online school, and run community writing and multimedia programs I design for youth. I am working with a statewide consortium to design a regional ELA curriculum based on the Common Core, and am currently wrapping up doctoral research at the University of Maine, using activity-theory to analyze pressures on educators to transform their students' learning through technology.
